There’s no denying it, Emily Edgar-Jones is our new fashion crush. If you haven’t been following her recent style evolution for her new movie, her enviable, It-girl wardrobe is definitely worth taking a peek. She’s been heating up the red carpet and hitting the streets in the coolest looks that have caught us by surprise, making us dig a little deeper into this impressive style transformation. The woman behind Edgar-Jones’ recent metamorphosis is none other than stylist Michelle Lee, the mastermind responsible for the drool-worthy looks sported by perennial trendsetters like Alexa Chung and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
What we love about Edgar-Jones’ revamped style is the mix of modern boho, polished lady, and downtown cool, all blended into one cohesive aesthetic. She’s been regularly spotted taking Gucci and Chloé out for a spin, both of which are surging thanks to their respective new creative directors. However, pieces by more emerging designers like 16Arlington, Christopher Esber, and Magda Butrym also have a place among the heavy hitters. Within this mix, we’ve definitely seen a heavier emphasis on the modern boho vibes, a trend that we are excited to see brought back to life by the new and OG generation—ahem, Sienna Miller.
“It’s so exciting to see boho come back, and I think there are few key pieces we could invest in to hit the trend, like a slouchy, brown suede bag that gets bigger at the bottom, much like Khaite and Maeden are making,” Michelle tells Who What Wear. “You could also get really oversized sunglasses like [the ones] Oliver Peoples or Chloé make, or try a really flowy top that Isabel Marant would sell, just to get a taste of the look without going full ’70s.”

When styled with a wide-legged, khaki trouser (side note: must be high-waisted), they’re a match made in cool-girl heaven. Top off with a dangling, sash belt and a designer shoulder bag, and you are good to go. Adding a French twist or chignon in the hair only enhances the Parisian vibes on this one.

Stepping out for the evening? Whether you’re in need of a little inspiration for your next wedding event or a special date night, a sheer, black mididress is surprisingly versatile and sexy. We love the elegant, pintuck details on this one from Khaite, which can be worn with or without the slip, depending on your mood. Minimalist sandals and simple, gold jewelry make for the easiest, final touches.

Calling all free spirits! This one has modern bohemian written all over it. The beauty is how effortlessly easy this look is to pull off. In our opinion, it’s the perfect summer look, which you can take into the cooler temperature days ahead, as well.

Texture is a crucial requirement, necessary to pull off the sheer and modern boho look. Balancing a lace top with a structured, black trouser is the freshest way to make this feel of-the-moment (a tank design works, too if you want to eschew the typical billowy blouse). Pile on the accessories—a.k.a. designer sunnies, chain jewelry, and a statement shoe, for a street-ready spin à la Edgar-Jones.

As transitional weather approaches (one can only hope), a leather piece is the wear-now-and-later item at the top of our wish lists.
