Emirates Group and Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy Celebrate Graduation of Emirati Outstation Managers

The Emirates Group and the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) recently celebrated the graduation of 32 Emirati outstation managers from the airline at their headquarters. These managers successfully completed the specialized Commercial Ambassador Leadership Programme, developed by Emirates’ Training & Development team, which aimed to enhance their diplomatic skills.

The ceremony was graced by key Emirates executives, including Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer; Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President of Passenger Sales and Country Management; Oliver Grohmann, Executive Vice President of Human Resources; Amira Al Falasi, Vice President of Training & Development; and Dr. Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director General of AGDA. Senior executives and managers from both the airline and the Academy were also present.

The Commercial Ambassador Leadership Programme was conducted in two phases. Phase one, held in 2023, focused on providing specialized training in various areas, including:

– International Protocol and Etiquette
– Global Trends & Issues
– Negotiation & Influencing
– UAE Economics and Commercial Diplomacy
– Media Handling
– Communication and Intercultural Awareness

This phase was designed to equip Emirati managers with the essential skills to represent the Emirates brand effectively and build strong relationships with local stakeholders, government bodies, and the broader aviation ecosystem. It received an impressive 88% satisfaction rate from participants, highlighting the relevance and quality of the training materials and content.

Phase two, held in 2024, provided intensive practical training in Media Skills and Etiquette Practices. The objective was to further enhance the managers’ confidence and understanding of media operations while improving their communication skills and ability to formulate key messages aligned with Emirates’ commercial and brand objectives.

The Emirates Group and AGDA’s collaboration on this training programme underscores their shared commitment to fostering a generation of leaders who will drive the UAE’s strategic objectives and strengthen the nation’s international presence. The programme supports ambitious and talented UAE Nationals, placing them in strategic roles across the Group’s global markets to gain broader exposure, expand their network connections, and become more accomplished leaders.
