Emirates, known for its luxurious travel experience, has revealed that passengers enjoyed a whopping 45 million pieces of chocolate across all classes in 2023. This sweet statistic, revealed in celebration of World Chocolate Day on July 7th, highlights the airline’s commitment to enhancing its ‘fly better’ slogan through delectable onboard offerings.
Last year, Economy Class passengers devoured 36.3 million chocolates, while those in the newly introduced Premium Economy savored 322,000 pieces. Business Class travelers indulged in 8.2 million chocolates, and First Class passengers, who enjoy unlimited access to chocolates and the option to take home their preferred varieties, delighted in 122,000 large gourmet chocolate boxes.
Emirates partners with expert chocolatiers worldwide, rotating its onboard chocolate selection every three months to please regular travelers. The present selection includes chocolates from Valrhona, a top French chocolatier founded in 1922 by pastry chef Albéric Guironnet. Known for over a century of dedicated craftsmanship, Valrhona is celebrated for its exceptional chocolates, commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and its B Corp certification, distinguishing it among the world’s most dedicated firms. Emirates partnered with Valrhona to create a bespoke luxury chocolate box for First Class customers, which are offered after meals onboard.
Zeyneb Larabi, Global Travel Retail Director of Valrhona remarked, “Partnering with Emirates underscores our shared values of excellence, attention to detail and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences. This collaboration goes beyond offering a delightful product, it creates lasting memories for customers enjoying the Emirates experience.”
