Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Erik Karlsson will join fellow countrymen and Buffalo Sabres players Rasmus Dahlin and Victor Olofsson in representing Sweden at the World Championship tournament in Czechia from May 10-26.
Karlsson, 33, previously has represented Sweden in the Olympics, World Cup and a pair of world championships, but this will be his first international appearance since 2016.
Karlsson, who was acquired from San Jose last summer, was the Penguins’ No. 4 scorer during the just-concluded season, putting up 11 goals and 45 assists in 82 games.
