Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan Breaks T20 Century Record with 27-Ball Blitz

Sahil Chauhan, representing Estonia, etched his name in the record books on Monday with a remarkable feat in T20 cricket. Facing Cyprus, Chauhan blazed his way to a century in a mere 27 deliveries, shattering the previous record held by West Indies legend Chris Gayle. Gayle had achieved the milestone in 30 balls during the 2013 Indian Premier League while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Chauhan’s blistering innings also surpassed another significant mark. He now holds the record for the fastest century in T20 Internationals, surpassing Jan-Nicole Loftie-Eaton of Namibia who had achieved the feat in 33 deliveries against Nepal.

The Estonian batsman’s incredible performance didn’t stop there. He went on to amass an unbeaten 144 runs off just 41 balls, smashing a staggering 18 sixes in the process. This feat also set a new record for the most sixes in a T20I innings.

Chauhan’s remarkable essay helped Estonia chase down a target of 191 runs in a mere 13 overs, securing a comfortable six-wicket victory. His record-breaking performance has undoubtedly placed him in the spotlight of the cricketing world and cemented his place in the history books.
