Etihad Airways Resumes Airbus A380 Service to New York with Inaugural Flight

Etihad Airways has resumed its Airbus A380 service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with an inaugural flight today. The A380, the only passenger aircraft with two full levels, is known for its spaciousness and luxurious amenities.

Flight EY1 departed from Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) at 04:00 and is scheduled to land at JFK at 09:43. The flight is operated by A6-API, a seven-year-old A380 delivered to Etihad in October 2016.

To celebrate the special occasion, Etihad pulled out all the stops to ensure an unforgettable experience for passengers in first class. Gift bags filled with branded merchandise, personalized amenity kits with pajamas featuring the passenger’s initials, and handwritten notes added a touch of exclusivity.

Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves expressed his excitement about the relaunch of the A380 service to New York, emphasizing the importance of the US market for the airline. He also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Etihad’s staff, particularly the flight attendants and pilots.

Etihad’s A380 flight to JFK is one of two daily flights to the airport, with the other operated by a Boeing 787.
