The Euro 2024 tournament has reached its climax, with only four teams remaining in contention for the prestigious trophy. Spain, a three-time winner, will face off against England, who are seeking their first major tournament victory in 58 years. The other semifinal matchup pits Euro 2016 runner-up France against Euro 1988 winner Netherlands.
Spain secured their place in the semifinals with a dramatic 2-1 victory over host nation Germany in the quarterfinal. A late goal by Mikel Merino in extra time proved to be the difference. Meanwhile, France edged out Portugal in a tense penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in their quarterfinal clash.
England’s journey to the semifinals was equally dramatic, overcoming Switzerland in another penalty shootout after a 5-3 scoreline. The Netherlands, on the other hand, defeated Turkiye 2-1 in their quarterfinal encounter, thanks to a Stefan de Vrij header and a Mert Muldur own goal.
Both semifinal matches will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Ten channels in various languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Malayalam. Fans can also stream the matches live via the app and website.
The winners of the semifinals will then clash in the final on June 14 at the Olympiastadion Berlin for the coveted Euro 2024 title.
