Europe Dominates Rankings for Sustainable Hotels

Europe’s hotels have dominated the rankings for sustainability, with six hotels making it into the top 10 globally according to Tripadvisor’s annual Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best Hotels Awards.

Coming in at third place overall is Hotel Kong Arthur in Copenhagen, Denmark. This charming hotel is located in the Nansensgade Quarter, close to Torvehallerne food market and Nørreport train and bus station. Guests can enjoy a delicious and sustainable Nordic breakfast here.

Greece’s most sustainable hotel, Ikos Odisia, is located on the island of Corfu. This secluded hotel sits across from Ikos Dassia and offers stunning views of the Ionian coast. Guests can relax on the private beach or indulge in the hotel’s many amenities.

Portugal also has two hotels featured in the top 10 sustainable hotels in the world. Monverde Wine Experience Hotel in Teloes is surrounded by vine-draped hills and offers a sleek wood and stone design. The hotel is committed to acting in full respect for nature and has been awarded an EU Ecolabel label for its efforts.

The Hari in London, England is another highly-rated sustainable hotel. Located in the upscale neighborhood of Knightsbridge, this luxury hotel has been certified by EarthCheck for its eco-conscious efforts. Guests can enjoy glamorous bedrooms with plush velvet window seats and bespoke wooden flooring.

Another Portuguese hotel, Vincci Ponte de Ferro in Vila Nova de Gaia, has made it into the top 10. This hotel features a rooftop pool with sweeping city views of Porto and has a comprehensive food waste policy and energy-saving light switches.
