Despite current laws prohibiting drivers from touching their phones while operating a vehicle, hands-free phone calls and using devices as sat navs are still permitted, posing a potential risk of attention being diverted from the road.
Data analysis reveals that younger drivers are particularly vulnerable to the dangers of phone use while driving, with a higher proportion of male drivers between the ages of 17 and 29 being observed using mobile devices behind the wheel compared to older age groups.
