Actor Fahadh Faasil recently shared his reservations about dealing with religion in his films during an interview with Galatta Plus. He believes that people in Kerala are not ready to face the harsh realities associated with religion and would rather be entertained. ‘Trance,’ a film by Faasil and Nazriya Nazim, attempted to address the religious industry in Kerala. However, it failed to achieve commercial success, leading Faasil to conclude that religion is a sensitive topic he would avoid for the time being.
Faasil emphasized that his decision stems from his belief that audiences in Kerala prioritize entertainment over truth. ‘Trance’ lacked the entertainment factor, which contributed to its failure. He also suggested that a revised second half of the film could have made a significant difference.
Faasil’s upcoming projects include ‘Pushpa: The Rule,’ ‘Vettaiyan,’ and ‘Maareesan.’ Despite the disappointing box office performance of ‘Trance,’ Faasil remains a highly respected actor in the Malayalam film industry.
