Get ready for a summer filled with live music, Margaritaville vibes, and a Tropical State of Mind at Fair Oaks Farms! On Friday, July 12th, the third annual Backyard Concert will take place, featuring America’s top Jimmy Buffett tribute band – Gone 2 Paradise. This incredible Jimmy Buffet Experience will headline the event, offering a night of music celebrating the legacy of the legendary musician.
The evening will kick off with opening act Whiskey Thomas, delivering a unique blend of sounds inspired by Jimmy Buffett, Dave Matthews, and the Eagles. This dynamic duo will set the stage for Gone 2 Paradise’s energetic performance, promising a night of unforgettable music.
Fair Oaks Farms Chief Operating Officer Ryan Weaver explained, “We’ve hosted live music on the porch at Fair Oaks Farms for years and saw how much people loved being outside and enjoying music together, so we decided to host a larger scale event that would allow more people to participate.” He added, “Our goal with the Backyard Concert series is to create a music experience that feels like you’re sitting in your own backyard with your family and closest friends, so we hope everyone walks away with their fill of music and comradery.”
Beyond the music, the Backyard Concert will offer a variety of activities and amenities to enhance the experience. Guests can indulge in delicious food from the Farmhouse Food Truck and Cowfe’s signature grilled cheese sandwiches and ice cream. A selection of beer and wine will also be available for purchase. While outside food and drink are not permitted, attendees can enjoy fun activities like cow ring toss, bags, and Connect Four. Enrichment activities hosted by museum guides will provide insights into the world of farming.
For those seeking additional excitement, a dress-up contest will offer the chance to win a free night stay at the on-site Fairfield by Marriott at Fair Oaks Farms or adventure passes for the farm’s cow, pig, and crop adventures. So, dust off your best Parrot Head attire and show off your Jimmy Buffett spirit.
Gates open at 6 p.m. CST, with Whiskey Thomas starting the show at 6:30 p.m. CST. The concert will wrap up at 10 p.m. CST. Tickets are on sale now for $18 at www.fofarms.com/byc. Parking is free in the Fair Oaks Farms lot.
To ensure a comfortable experience, remember to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and other gear to stay cozy on the lawn as the sun sets. The south side of the Farmhouse restaurant porch will be designated for ticket holders requiring wheelchair access.
Fair Oaks Farms is committed to providing a variety of events throughout the summer, including Music on the Porch every Thursday and the U-Pick Sunflower Field from August to Labor Day, where families can gather sunflowers, cosmos, and zinnias. Additionally, apple picking begins in August and continues through October.
