He has the ability to threaten defenses with his speed, make contested catches, and run a significant portion of the route tree.
While the Falcons undoubtedly require a pass rusher, they may not believe any defensive prospects are worthy of their 8th pick. This could lead them to prioritize their offense by adding Thomas, who has the potential to complement Mooney and Moore effectively.
Although Thomas is not as highly regarded as his LSU teammate Malik Nabers, he is a talented wide receiver who could thrive in the Falcons’ offense. If the team decides to trade back, selecting Thomas would be a wise move.
