To achieve the desired fit, Westcott focused on finding a matte fabric with four-way stretch. After experimenting with various prototypes, the costume department selected Mectex’s fabric, which had previously been used in the 2013 sci-fi movie After Earth.
While importing the fabric from Italy presented challenges, Westcott maintains that it was the superior choice for the Vault suits. The fabric’s ability to retain its shape after prolonged use was crucial for the show’s demanding filming schedule.
