The influence of Amazon’s Fallout TV program continues to reverberate through Xbox’s most sought-after games this week, as players rediscovering Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 have propelled both titles into the coveted top ten, while Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas have also made significant strides, entering the top 40.
Meanwhile, a few recent additions from the anticipated Game Pass games have also graced the chart. Here’s a rundown of the top 40 Xbox Gameplay Chart for the week ending April 21, 2024.
Fallout Lands in the Top Ten
The top three positions remain unchanged this week, with Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Minecraft maintaining their dominance. However, the rest of the top ten underwent a significant reshuffle.
Bolstered by the success of the TV series, Fallout 4 has managed to secure the fourth spot, displacing Rainbow Six Siege to fifth. Hot on its heels, Fallout 76 has climbed to sixth, pushing EA Sport’s FC 24, Roblox, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Destiny into seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth place, respectively.
New Entrants and Steady Climbers
With the exception of Overwatch 2 and Forza Horizon 5, which held their positions at 12th and 14th, respectively, the following ten games all dropped down a spot due to the top ten shake-up.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection managed to rise one place to 20th, making way for a spectacular entry into the top 40 for Fallout: New Vegas at 21st. Dead Island 2 followed closely behind at 22nd, having climbed five positions since the launch of its Sola DLC last week.
Ark: Survival Ascended, Palworld, and Forza Motorsport all slipped down a spot to accommodate Grounded’s return to 24th place, likely influenced by the release of its Fully Yoked update. Orcs Must Die! 3 marked its top 40 debut at 28th after joining Xbox Game Pass last week.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, despite being in Game Pass for nearly two weeks, managed to climb three spots to 30th, suggesting that players are still highly engaged with Crystal Dynamic’s adventure game.
FIFA 23 rose two spots to 32nd, followed by another top 40 debutant, Fallout 3 at 33rd, and NHL 24 at 39th. The chart is completed with Starfield reappearing in 40th place.
Looking Ahead
With three more games set to join Game Pass this week, the Xbox Game Chart could experience another shake-up next week. The excitement surrounding the Fallout TV series and the influx of new titles on Game Pass will undoubtedly continue to impact the gaming landscape in the weeks to come.
