This collaboration signifies a major milestone in the advancement of battery technology, with the simultaneous launch of the ‘ELIGHT’ model featuring the SPS (Super Pouch Solution) battery. The partnership aims to jointly promote research, production, and market applications of solid-state batteries. This will involve speeding up the research and development of core technologies, facilitating industrial transformation and improvement, and advancing the maturity and commercialization process of solid-state battery technology.
Solid-state batteries are considered a game-changer in the new energy vehicle sector due to their exceptional characteristics, including high energy density, rapid charging, long cycle life, and enhanced safety features. Farasis Energy boasts years of extensive expertise in areas like electrochemical systems and Pouch battery stacking processes, making them uniquely suited to navigate the path towards solid-state batteries. Their product development strategy focuses on achieving medium and long-term R&D goals for high-energy, high-speed, high-safety, and low-cost solid-state batteries, ensuring timely translation of research successes.
Currently, Farasis Energy’s first-generation semi-solid batteries are in mass production for passenger vehicles. The company has also established a strategic alliance with FAW Jiefang, driving advancements in the commercial vehicle sector. This partnership aims to collectively encourage the development of market and industrial chains for semi-solid and solid-state batteries for commercial vehicles. Farasis Energy envisions completing the transition from semi-solid to solid-state battery commercialization within the next five years.
On the same day, the first SPS battery system designed to support Farasis Energy’s ‘ELIGHT’ model rolled off the production line. This follows previous deliveries to Geely Radar Horizon and GAC Second Generation Aion V models. The introduction of the ‘ELIGHT’ model’s SPS battery aims to assist JMEV in developing its pure electric platform and creating a pioneering sports sedan for an enhanced driving experience. Farasis Energy’s SPS boasts several notable features:
* 10-minute charge for a 400-kilometer range
* Adaptability to chassis heights ranging from 85mm to 145mm
* Up to 75% volume utilization ratio
* Full chemical system compatibility, including sodium-ion batteries, lithium iron phosphate, and semi-solid batteries.
