WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Officials have reported the death of 15-year-old Addison Howard of Peebles following a crash in Highland County on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on State Route 73 near Berrysville Road when a 17-year-old driver traveled off the road. The vehicle struck a mailbox and then a tree.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital, along with Addison Howard, who was riding in the backseat. Howard succumbed to his injuries two days later.
A third passenger was also taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating the crash, which remains ongoing.
