At approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday, a Fairfield police officer patrolling Air Base Parkway near Wylie Lane spotted an individual lying on the ground on the shoulder. Upon approaching the scene, the officer determined that the person had been hit by a vehicle, and there were no other vehicles in the vicinity.
