FBI Arrests Jan. 6 Capitol Riot Suspect Who Skipped Trial
The FBI Tampa Division arrested Victor Sean Dennison, 49, of California, at the Woodlake Condominiums in Clearwater on Monday. Dennison is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
Dennison skipped his trial in Washington, D.C., on June 5, 2023, after his initial arrest on January 5 that year. He originally faced charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building or grounds, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.
The FBI initially became aware of Dennison when an anonymous tipster submitted video posted on his Facebook page that allegedly shows him saying he entered the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021. The video seems to have been filmed in the D.C. area and shows Dennison wearing a puff-jacket and a baseball cap that reads “ALL ABOARD THE TRUMP TRAIN.”
Investigators also said a photo of rioters inside the U.S. Capitol building shows Dennison, identified wearing the same jacket and ball cap.
Dennison was interviewed on June 9, 2021, where he admitted to being in D.C. on January 6 for a pro-Trump rally and for the former President’s speech at the Ellipse near the White House. Dennison reportedly confirmed he walked to the U.S. Capitol building with a large crowd and admitted “he entered the U.S. Capitol building after noticing the doors had been breeched.”
