In a significant shakeup for the 2025 Formula 1 season, Ferrari will welcome both a new driver and a new title sponsor. The Italian team has signed seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes, replacing Carlos Sainz Jr., and is poised to partner with Hewlett-Packard (HP) as its title sponsor. The potential deal with HP would mark Ferrari’s first title sponsorship since its partnership with Philip Morris in 2021. According to reports, the proposed agreement is comparable in value to Red Bull’s partnership with Oracle, currently the most lucrative title sponsorship in Formula 1. The addition of HP as a title sponsor will provide Ferrari with a much-needed financial boost to accommodate Hamilton’s salary, which is not subject to Formula 1’s cost cap. This is not HP’s first venture into Formula 1; the company previously sponsored Williams from 2000 to 2005, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprises (HPE) currently has relationships with both Mercedes and Sauber. Ferrari has shown promising signs of progress this season, closing the gap to Red Bull in the Constructors’ Standings. The team is hopeful that the combination of Hamilton’s experience and HP’s support will propel them even further towards championship contention.
