Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman isn’t holding back when it comes to his opinion on former President Donald Trump’s voter fraud claims. During an interview on CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ Fetterman dismissed Trump’s recent allegations of cheating in the Keystone State, calling them a repeat of his 2020 claims.
“It‘s the same sh-t he played in ’20, and it didn’t go anywhere,” Fetterman said, adding that Biden won Pennsylvania in 2020 by a margin of 80,000 votes.
Fetterman also mocked Trump, saying, “He’s gonna try to lie and claim these baseless things. But we’re gonna have a new team leading America and that’s going to be Harris—but it is going to be close.”
Trump’s Truth Social posts, alleging widespread voter fraud, have drawn scrutiny from election officials and experts. Last month, investigations were launched in Lancaster and York Counties after officials discovered potential fraudulent voter registration applications.
Fetterman’s dismissal of Trump’s claims comes as the former president continues to raise concerns about potential voter fraud in Pennsylvania, a key swing state in the upcoming presidential election. Trump narrowly won the state in 2016, but lost it to President Biden in 2020.
Political eyes are once again on Pennsylvania, as the state’s voters are seen as key to determining the outcome of the 2024 election. Fetterman’s comments highlight the ongoing tension between Democrats and Republicans over election integrity and the potential for voter fraud.
