FHRAI Stakeholder’s Meet Catalyzes Partnerships, Policy Advocacy, and Tourism Boost in Jammu & Kashmir

The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), in collaboration with its associate partner HRANI, hosted a significant Stakeholders’ Meet at the Radisson Collection Hotel & Spa in Srinagar on May 3, 2024. This event aimed to catalyze innovative partnerships, enhance policy advocacy, and boost tourism in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

The meeting gathered key figures from the tourism and hospitality sectors, providing an essential platform for discussions about employment, economic growth, and inclusive development in the region. It focused on advancing Jammu & Kashmir’s tourism industry and exploring opportunities for broad-based collaboration.

In a move to strengthen cooperation, FHRAI and the Hoteliers Club Srinagar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concentrating on policy advocacy, networking, and government liaison to further tourism growth in the area.

A highlight of the event was the awarding of the Hospitality Excellence Award to Mr. Mushtaq Chaya, CMD of Mushtaq Group of Hotels and Chairman of the Hoteliers Club Srinagar, by FHRAI. Mr. Chaya received the accolade for his significant contributions to Jammu & Kashmir’s hospitality industry, presented by the Chief Guest, Mr. Vikramjit Singh.

Mr. Pradeep Shetty, President of FHRAI said, ” FHRAI is dedicated to advocating for the growth and development of the tourism industry in Jammu & Kashmir. Our upcoming Hospitality Investors Summit in J & K will provide an excellent platform for leading brands and hospitality entrepreneurs to explore investable projects and learn about the government’s investor-friendly policies. We also invite all stakeholders to participate in the 54th Annual Convention of FHRAI, where we will continue our discussions on promoting tourism and fostering partnerships in the hospitality sector.”

The event featured Mr. Vikramjit Singh as the Chief Guest, who serves as the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir’s Industries & Commerce Department. Additional distinguished guests included Mr. Raja Yaqoob Farooq, Director of the Tourism Department, Govt of J & K; Mr. Baldev Prakash, MD & CEO of J & K Bank; Mr. Mohammed A. Shah, Director of the Department of Handicrafts & Handlooms, Govt of J & K; along with prominent personalities from the hotel and tourism industries.

The Stakeholders’ Meet marked a significant initiative to rejuvenate the tourism sector in Jammu & Kashmir. It focused on fostering new opportunities and partnerships aimed at promoting sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.
