Fifth Suspect Arrested in Kansas Women’s Murders, Anti-Government Group Implicated
An additional suspect has been apprehended in connection with the murders of two Kansas women, Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley, who vanished on March 30 while driving to retrieve their children. Paul Grice, 31, was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree.
The development comes as Oklahoma authorities delve deeper into the case, which has taken a sinister turn with the emergence of a potential motive. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) revealed that four suspects previously arrested, Tad Bert Cullum, Tifany Machel Adams, Cole Earl Twombly, and Cora Twombly, are connected to an anti-government group known as ‘God’s Misfits.’
Court records indicate a custody dispute between Butler and Adams, the grandmother of Butler’s children. The children’s father is undergoing rehabilitation. Kelley, the court-ordered supervisor, accompanied Butler on March 30 to pick up her children, coinciding with their disappearance.
Investigators, with a search warrant, discovered incriminating searches on Adams’ phone, including ‘taser pain level,’ gun shops, and ‘how to get someone out of [your] house.’ Five stun guns were purchased from local shops on March 23, further fueling suspicion.
A comprehensive investigation is underway to unravel the motive and connections between the suspects and the victims. The community remains in shock as authorities work tirelessly to bring justice for Butler and Kelley and provide closure to their families.
