Finish Launches Water Challenge to Encourage Conservation

In a bid to combat the growing strain on America’s freshwater ecosystems, Finish, a leading dishwasher detergent brand, has launched the Finish Water Challenge. The campaign, running in conjunction with the Every Drop Counts Water Report, aims to empower consumers to take tangible steps towards water conservation.

Finish has long been committed to reducing water waste in dishwashing. Their #SkipTheRinse campaign encourages consumers to forgo pre-rinsing dishes, saving up to 20 gallons of water per dishwasher cycle. For this year’s initiative, Finish is partnering with Flume Water, a company specializing in smart water monitoring solutions, to bring the Finish Water Challenge to life.

Participants in the 60-day challenge, accessible at FinishDishwashing.com/WaterChallenge, pledge to conserve water by skipping the rinse. As a bonus, challenge participants can enter to win a suite of Whirlpool kitchen appliances.

The Finish Water Challenge underscores the significance of water conservation, a crucial issue highlighted in the Every Drop Counts Water Report. Co-authored by Finish and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the report underscores the alarming reality of dwindling freshwater reserves in the U.S. It predicts that nearly half of the nation’s freshwater basins may face unsustainable demand by 2071.

Alexis Chatzialexiou, Vice President of US Marketing for Finish at Reckitt, emphasized the impact of collective action, stating, “Small actions, when done at scale, can make a big difference for water conservation.”

Eric Adler, co-founder of Flume, echoed this sentiment, stating that the Finish Water Challenge is “inspiring communities to take actionable steps towards a sustainable water future.”

The Finish Water Challenge officially launches on August 24th at Santa Monica Pier, further underscoring the importance of water conservation.

This collaborative effort between Finish, Flume, and Whirlpool aims to empower consumers to make a positive difference in water conservation and ensure a brighter future for the planet.
