Fire Damages Home Under Construction in Edmonton: Investigation Underway

A fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday morning, causing significant damage to a home under construction in Edmonton’s Holyrood neighbourhood. The blaze, which ignited at a site near the intersection of 92nd Avenue and 81st Street, prompted a response from Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) at 12:14 a.m.

Firefighters arrived at the scene six minutes later, according to an EFRS spokesperson who spoke with Global News. The fire was brought under control at 1:29 a.m., but crews and investigators remained on site to complete their work. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

EFRS confirmed that police have been notified about the fire and are investigating the cause. Global News has reached out to police for further details. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety and the potential dangers associated with construction projects.
