Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – The Tampa Police Department apprehended five individuals on Monday evening during a police chase following reports of shots fired from a vehicle.

According to police, unmarked officers observed reckless driving on North 43rd Street near East Hanna Avenue. As officers approached the vehicle for a traffic stop, shots were discharged toward their direction.

A brief pursuit ensued, terminating near Nancy Street. Five people exited the car and attempted to flee on foot but were subsequently taken into custody.

No injuries have been reported, and the officers involved did not engage in gunfire. Authorities have not yet released specific details about the arrests or charges.
