Five individuals were taken to hospitals, one with serious injuries, following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Lindsay, Ontario, on Monday morning. The incident, involving a car and an SUV, occurred around 11:13 a.m., resulting in road closures and a thorough investigation by the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP. Four individuals were taken to Ross Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, while one person sustained serious injuries and was transported to a Toronto hospital. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and witnesses or individuals with video footage are urged to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP detachment for assistance. The collision forced the closure of Highway 7 between Monarch Road and Greenfield Road, as well as sections of Kent Street and Dew Drop Inn Road. The highway section reopened around 7:15 p.m. Similar incidents have occurred in the region, including a fatal two-vehicle collision in Kinmount and a motorcyclist’s death in a fiery collision on County Road 507 in Trent Lakes.
