A chemical powder incident at Sravan Shipping Services Pvt. Ltd. in Visakhapatnam has resulted in the hospitalization of five workers, including three women. The incident occurred while workers were loading a bag of chemical powder from the company’s godown to a container.
According to reports, the bag of chemical powder ruptured during the loading process, exposing the workers to the substance. Emergency services were immediately called to the scene and transported the injured workers to Simhagiri Hospital in Gajuwaka.
Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi confirmed the incident, stating that four of the workers are in stable condition. One worker, however, remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the incident and the nature of the chemical powder involved. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety protocols and procedures in industrial settings.
