Flamengo head coach Tite is recovering well after being hospitalized for an irregular heartbeat, the Brazilian Serie A club confirmed. The 63-year-old, who guided Brazil to victory in the 2019 Copa America, was admitted to the hospital on Friday but is expected to be released on Saturday.
According to a statement released by Flamengo, Tite’s condition has improved significantly since being treated for the irregular heartbeat. His heart rhythm has normalized, and doctors have recommended a two-day rest period. As a result, he will miss Sunday’s league match against Bragantino.
Assistant coach Matheus Bachi, Tite’s son, will lead the team in his absence. Flamengo currently sits in fourth place in the league with 41 points, trailing leaders Botafogo by five points.
Flamengo’s fans will be relieved to hear that Tite is recovering well and will be back on the sidelines soon. His absence will be felt, but the club is confident in Bachi’s ability to lead the team to a positive result against Bragantino.
