Flint Handmade Spring Craft Market: Unique Gifts for Mother’s Day and Beyond

Looking for a unique Mother’s Day gift or simply seeking handcrafted treasures? The 17th annual Flint Handmade Spring Craft Market is the perfect destination. This weekend event will feature an array of 20-plus local artisans showcasing their modern handmade goods. From natural bath and body products to stylish home décor, the market offers a plethora of gift-worthy items.

Taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, the market will be located in the Ramsdell Room at the Flint Farmers’ Market. Crystal Pepperdine, founder of Flint Handmade, emphasizes the exceptional selection of items available, many of which would make thoughtful Mother’s Day presents. While returning artisans will offer their popular creations, new vendors will introduce fresh and exciting products.

Pepperdine founded Flint Handmade in 2007, recognizing the need for an independent handmade nonprofit in Flint. Since then, the organization has grown its online presence, with over 600 Michigan artisans opting into its email list. The majority of artists featured at the market hail from Genesee County and surrounding areas, showcasing the local talent.

Attendees can expect to find a diverse range of handmade products, including vintage-inspired jewelry, hand-poured candles, natural bath and body products, knit and crocheted items, greeting cards, and decorated cookies. Adding to the ambiance, live music by Erik McIntyre and Shannon Wade will provide entertainment throughout the event.

Admission to the Flint Handmade Spring Craft Market is free, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Genesee Health System, Mott Community College, Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, Dr. Nita Kulkarni, Genesee Health Plan, and Meijer. Additional support comes from the Greater Flint Arts Council, Share Art, and the Genesee Grant Program, made possible by Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage funds.

To encourage creativity in young minds, the market will offer free kids coloring kits while supplies last. Donations are gratefully accepted to support the organization’s free programs. Mark your calendars for the Flint Handmade Spring Craft Market this weekend, where you’re sure to discover unique and meaningful handmade gifts for Mother’s Day and beyond.
