Flint Water Crisis Anniversary: Events to Mark 10 Years

The 10-year anniversary of the Flint water crisis will be marked with a series of events in the city. The events will start with a march on City Hall on Thursday, April 25, and end two days later with a forum to update residents on unresolved water issues.

The Democracy Defense League, Michigan United, and Flint Rising are among the sponsors of several gatherings related to the crisis. The crisis started on April 25, 2014, when the city’s water source was switched from Lake Huron to the Flint River. The change in water source led to a series of issues, including lead contamination of the water, which had severe consequences for the city’s residents.

The events planned for the anniversary will provide an opportunity for residents to reflect on the crisis and to learn about the work that is still needed to address its ongoing impact.
