Flyadeal, a leading Saudi Arabian airline, has taken a significant step towards expanding its international network by launching direct flights between Jeddah and Sohag, Egypt. The inaugural flight, F3 777, took off on November 11, marking an exciting new chapter in the airline’s journey.
The arrival of the first flight at Sohag International Airport was celebrated with a warm welcome, including a traditional water salute, signifying a momentous occasion in the aviation industry. The ceremony, attended by Flyadeal’s Director of Ground Operations, Eyad Jamalallail, was a testament to the airline’s commitment to strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
This new route is a testament to Flyadeal’s commitment to connecting cultures and providing travellers with convenient and affordable options. Sohag, a captivating port city on the Nile River, offers a gateway to the region’s renowned river cruises and boasts a wealth of archaeological and religious treasures. The ancient Temple of Abydos, considered one of Egypt’s oldest temples, is a prominent highlight, attracting history buffs and adventurers alike.
The Nile cruises, often referred to as “open-air museums,” provide a mesmerizing glimpse into the wonders of Egyptian civilization. The Jeddah-Sohag route adds to Flyadeal’s existing network of flights between the two countries, bringing the total number of weekly flights to 44.
Moreover, this new service precedes the upcoming launch of Flyadeal’s first international route from Madinah to Cairo, further strengthening the connection between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Flyadeal’s strategic expansion underscores its ambitious growth plans. The airline currently operates nearly 30 year-round and seasonal destinations across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa. Its significant expansion plans, scheduled to commence in early 2025, promise to introduce a wider array of international travel options for its passengers, solidifying its position as a key player in the global aviation market.
