Foam Frenzy: Gas Station Shuts Down After Fire Suppression System Mishap
A gas station in Malden, Massachusetts, found itself in a sticky situation on Tuesday afternoon when its fire suppression system malfunctioned, unleashing a cascade of white foam that engulfed vehicles and blanketed the surrounding area. The incident occurred just before 4 p.m. at Snap Mart on Main Street, prompting the closure of the gas station.
From Sky 5 footage, an Infiniti sedan parked at the pump became a victim of the foam attack, along with a Lexus sedan parked nearby. Even vehicles at a used car lot across the street couldn’t escape the foam’s wrath, finding themselves adorned with a dusting of the suppressant material. The gas station’s concrete pad and asphalt parking lot also fell victim to the foam’s transformation, turning a pristine white.
Fortunately, Malden police reported that no injuries occurred during the foam frenzy. However, the cause of the accidental discharge remains a mystery, leaving investigators to delve into the incident’s origins.
Amidst the foam-filled chaos, the gas station remains closed for business as authorities work to restore normalcy and determine the root cause of the system’s malfunction. Motorists in the area are advised to seek alternative fueling options until the investigation is complete.
