Food Network viewers have expressed their disgust over a particularly unappetizing dish created by a contestant on ‘Guy’s Grocery Games.’ The dish, which was made entirely with frozen and canned ingredients, included waffles topped with fruit cocktail syrup, tater tots, green vegetables, a macaroni and cheese and chili hash, and Salisbury steaks served as a main entree.
The chef, Emily Lim, appeared to be proud of her creation, but viewers were left unimpressed. Many found the dish unappetizing and undeserving of praise from judge Nancy Silverton.
The episode, which featured a frozen food auction challenge, also sparked discussion about other notable Food Network dishes that have left viewers unimpressed. Some viewers argued that Christian Petroni had the worst Food Network dish, citing his use of yogurt in a fruit salad with chicken tenders.
Another common complaint among Food Network viewers is the unsanitary practice of chefs placing used tasting spoons back into their cooking dishes. This behavior has been observed on several competition shows, including ’24 in 24′ and ‘Guy’s Grocery Games.’
Some fans have expressed sympathy for the judges who have to eat the dishes, while others have criticized the chefs for their lack of hygiene. The issue of double-dipping has even led to a contestant being sent home on ‘Food Network Star.’
