Ford has announced that the cheapest trim for the 2024 F-150 Lightning, the Pro, is no longer available for orders. The XLT trim is now the most affordable option, starting at $62,995.
Ford has also added a new Flash trim to the Lightning lineup for 2024. The Flash model starts at $67,995 and includes features like an extended-range battery, a tech-loaded interior, and an added heat pump.
Other updates for the 2024 Lightning include:
* Lightning drivers can now use Tesla’s +15,000 Supercharger network.
* Ford has cut production at its Rouge EV plant, where the Lightning is built.
* Despite the production cuts, Ford’s sales of electric pickups surged 80% YOY to 7,743 in Q1.
Competition in the electric pickup segment is heating up, with the upcoming Tesla Cybertruck and Chevy Silverado EV. It will be interesting to see how the Lightning sales progress throughout the year.
