The Denver Broncos have acquired former second overall pick Zach Wilson in a trade with the New York Jets.
The deal involves the Broncos sending a 6th overall pick to the Jets for Wilson and a 7th-round pick. The Jets will also pay $5.5 million of Wilson’s salary for the 2024 season.
Wilson, who was the starting quarterback for the Jets in 2021 and 2022, struggled last season and was benched in favor of Mike White. He is expected to compete for the starting job in Denver, where he will join a quarterback room that includes Brett Rypien.
The Broncos are reportedly still in the market for a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, but the addition of Wilson gives them a veteran option at the position.
