Former Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan Campaigns for BJP in Nanded Lok Sabha Seat

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Ashok Chavan is campaigning vigorously for the BJP candidate Prataprao Chikhalikar Patil in the Nanded Lok Sabha seat. In a recent interview, Chavan, who ended a decades-long family association with the Congress to join the BJP, said he is not afraid of any investigation agency and faced many challenges in the Congress, even when he was in power.

Chavan’s decision to join the BJP was a major setback for the Congress, which has been struggling to regain its footing in Maharashtra after its defeat in the 2019 Assembly elections. The BJP, on the other hand, is hoping to consolidate its position in the state by winning a majority of the Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections.

The Nanded Lok Sabha seat is considered a stronghold of the Congress, but the BJP is hoping to make inroads into the region with Chavan’s support. Chavan is a popular figure in Nanded and has a strong network of supporters. The BJP is hoping that Chavan’s presence in the campaign will help them swing the vote in their favor.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in April-May 2024. The BJP is the incumbent party and is hoping to retain power at the Centre. The Congress is hoping to regain power after a 10-year hiatus.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 23 of the 48 seats in Maharashtra. The Congress won only one seat. The BJP is hoping to improve its tally in the upcoming elections, while the Congress is hoping to regain some of the lost ground.
