Formula 1 has unveiled its 2025 race calendar, featuring six sprint races across the globe. The exciting news includes the continuation of sprint events in Austin, Texas, and Miami, Florida. Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit joins the sprint race roster, replacing Austria. This marks the third consecutive year that Formula 1 will host six sprint races throughout its 24-event schedule.
Austin and Miami will be hosting their third and second sprint races, respectively, in 2025. Spa-Francorchamps, while new to the sprint race lineup for 2025, is no stranger to the format, having hosted a sprint event in 2023. Interestingly, Spa-Francorchamps is the only 2025 sprint venue that does not currently host a sprint race this year.
For the fifth consecutive year, the remaining three sprint races in 2025 will take place in Brazil, China, and Qatar. Formula 1 implemented a change to its weekend schedule earlier this year, moving the sprint race to an earlier Saturday slot, ahead of qualifying for the grand prix. This adjustment aims to enhance the excitement and action of the sprint races, providing fans with even more racing throughout the weekend.
