Fortnite Players Can Now Block ‘Toxic’ Emotes

Epic Games has heard the cries of its Fortnite player base and has taken action to address the toxicity that has been plaguing the game’s online multiplayer. With the release of the latest update, players now have the option to block four of the game’s most “confrontational” emotes: Laugh it Up, Take the L, Whipcrack, and Make it Plantain.

These emotes have been used by some players to taunt and harass their opponents, and Epic Games has decided that enough is enough. The new option to block these emotes will give players a way to protect themselves from this kind of behavior.

To block the emotes, players will need to go to the game’s settings menu and select the “Account and Privacy” tab. From there, they will need to select the “Social Privacy” tab and then scroll down to the “See Confrontational Emotes” option. Players can then choose to block the emotes from being seen by all players, or only by players who are not in their party.

It is important to note that blocking the emotes will not prevent players from using them. They will simply not be able to see the emotes when they are used by other players. This is a good compromise that allows players to protect themselves from toxicity without completely removing the emotes from the game.

Epic Games has also made it clear that this is just the first step in addressing toxicity in Fortnite. The company is committed to creating a positive and welcoming environment for all players, and it will continue to work on new ways to combat toxicity in the future.
