Four Seasons Abu Dhabi Celebrates Emirati Women’s Day with Art Exhibition and Afternoon Tea

In celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island is hosting a captivating art exhibition showcasing the vibrant works of local artist Faezeh Mohammed Hassan. The exhibition, located in the hotel’s lobby, provides a platform to explore the artistic expression and creativity of Emirati women.

Faezeh Mohammed Hassan’s art is a passionate testament to plein-air painting, vividly capturing the radiant colors and lively illumination of the outdoors. Her preference for ochre infuses her paintings with warmth and joy, mirroring the scenic beauty and cultural essence of the UAE. Faezeh skillfully blends elements of realism with Orientalist influences, creating pieces that celebrate the rich cultural heritage and influential roles of Emirati women. Her artwork depicts their everyday lives and historical experiences, showcasing their contributions to society.

Drawing inspiration from renowned artists like Gustave Bauernfeind, Ludwig Deutsch, and Rudolf Hellgrewe, and iconic locations like the Khorfakkan Fortress, Faezeh’s creations are both evocative and mesmerizing. One standout piece is a portrait of Ousha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi, a pioneer in Nabati poetry whose works have left a lasting impact on the UAE’s literary scene. Born in Al Ain in 1920, Ousha was a prodigious talent who overcame societal hurdles in a predominantly male literary world. Her enduring legacy continues to influence and empower a new generation of female poets.

To complement the cultural celebration, Executive Pastry Chef Partha Pratim Bose from the Four Seasons has designed a special afternoon tea, available at Al Meylas during the exhibition. This refined culinary offering features a variety of treats incorporating local tastes, enhancing the celebration of Emirati women’s achievements.

The exhibition and the special afternoon tea, both honoring the artistic and cultural contributions of Emirati women, will be open from August 28 to September 28, 2024. This period presents a unique opportunity to engage with Emirati culture and the art of Faezeh Mohammed Hassan.
