Four Seasons Orlando Launches Explorer’s Activity Guide for Young Adventurers

The lush surroundings and wildlife at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort have inspired the creation of a charming new program called the Explorer’s Activity Guide. Set amidst lakes and woodlands, the resort’s stunning landscaping, including its expansive Explorer Island waterpark and Audubon Sanctuary-certified 18-hole golf course, provided the perfect backdrop for this initiative.

Designed for young adventurers, the program invites kids to roam the 26-acre (11-hectare) resort, accompanied by family members, completing fun challenges and collecting stamps. Upon arrival, children receive an eight-page Explorer’s Activity Guide featuring adorable animal characters such as Freckles the Fawn, Tommy the Turtle, Bonnie the Bunny, Freddie the Fox, and Olly the Owl. These furry friends need the children’s help to embark on an Epic Expedition, tackling challenges to earn their True Explorer Certification.

Challenges range from spotting a hidden deer in the landscaping by the Explorer Pool to identifying animal footprints near the poolside. ‘Extra fun’ challenges include operating water cannons along the Drifters Lazy River and playing beanbag toss on the lawn by Kids For All Seasons. Upon completing the activities in the booklet, children can proudly claim their True Explorer Certification at Lickety Split, the lobby level cafe, and enjoy a complimentary scoop of gelato in their favorite flavor.

To complement the activity guide, each child receives a plush toy of Freckles the Fawn or another character from the collection, waiting with anticipation in their guest room. Babies and toddlers receive a cuddly ‘lovie’ version of the plush deer, adorned with the Four Seasons Resort Orlando logo on the blanket.

Parents and guardians can enroll children ages 4 and up for as little as an hour or for the entire day, assured that they’ll be fully entertained by the enthusiastic, well-trained staff. Under the guidance of Director of Recreation Sarah Peltier, the Kids For All Seasons team regularly hosts thrilling theme days, incorporating outdoor water activities and imaginative games.

The Hideout, a separate building at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, caters to older kids and teens, offering an ideal hangout space. It features a video gaming room with multiple consoles, a multiplayer PAC-MAN, billiards, foosball, and more. Upon check-in, families at Four Seasons Resort Orlando are delighted by the array of amenities available, ensuring a seamless trip. From diaper genies to cribs, footstools, children’s toiletries, and child-size bathrobes provided in-room, every detail is carefully considered by the Resort team.

The resort offers a plethora of activities tailored to different age groups, each with dedicated areas. For toddlers, the expansive Splash Zone provides shallow wading areas with interactive fountains and fog nozzles. Pre-schoolers and younger school-age children can enjoy running through the Splash Zone and experiencing its features. The Drifters Lazy River is a hit with kids of all ages, while tweens and teens can have fun with water cannons and water basketball. The family pool, featuring a zero-entry wade-in area, is perfect for family swim time and hosts Dive-In movies on a weekly basis.

Parents benefit from the Resort’s connectivity with Walt Disney World, including an on-site Disney Planning Center staffed by Disney Cast Members. Complimentary transportation to the theme parks and Early Theme Park Entry are available to Four Seasons guests. Adults can unwind at the Oasis Pool, an adult-only haven offering attentive pool service and a serene environment. Dining options abound, with highlights including the Michelin-starred Capa Steakhouse and Michelin-recommended Ravello. New programming at Ravello, ‘Pasta & Play,’ provides parents with post-dinner relaxation while kids enjoy supervised activities.
