Fox News host Harris Faulkner expressed dismissiveness towards Democratic Attorney General Letitia James’ failed attempt to overturn former President Donald Trump’s $175 million bond.
James had argued that Trump could still withdraw money from the account used to secure the bond, but the court dismissed her motion. Faulkner reported on the ruling, sarcastically telling James to “take several seats”.
Former federal prosecutor Andrew Cherkasky had earlier criticized James’ effort, calling it a “legal technicality.” The court agreed with Cherkasky’s assessment, stating that the bond should remain in cash, not in mutual funds or securities where the value can fluctuate.
Faulkner’s comments reflect Fox News’s general support for Trump and its skepticism of James’ investigation into his business practices. James has been a vocal critic of Trump and has accused him of overstating the value of his assets to obtain loans.
