Frazer Clarke’s Boxing Return on the Horizon After Jaw Surgery: April Target Set

Frazer Clarke, the heavyweight contender known for his powerful punches and unwavering determination, is poised to return to the boxing ring in April after a setback in his recent bout. The news comes as a sigh of relief for Clarke and his fans following a dramatic first-round knockout loss to fellow Brit Fabio Wardley in Saudi Arabia last month.

Following the fight, Clarke underwent a successful operation to repair damage to his jaw and cheekbone. The initial concern was the severity of the injury and the potential impact on his career. However, promoter Ben Shalom has confirmed that the surgery went smoothly and Clarke has been cleared to return to training.

“Frazer Clarke, first of all, thankfully no real long, long-term damage,” Shalom revealed to Sky Sports. “He had that brain scan, and it was a sigh of relief for everyone involved. It was operated on without plates and without screws which is another massive plus.”

While Clarke will require the remainder of the year to fully recover before stepping back into the gym, the positive news suggests a quicker return than initially anticipated. “April for us is a target month,” Shalom stated. “So to be sat here now talking about when he might next fight is testament to him because that can affect you physically, psychologically.”

The determination shown by Clarke in his recovery is admirable. “But the way he has dealt with it, the way he has come on, the way he is now talking, the motivation to get back in there is great to see,” said Shalom. “Big Frazer is a big fan favorite and I think he can use this experience to go on and achieve what we all know he is capable of.”

The possibility of a future clash with fellow British heavyweight Jeamie TKV is also on the horizon. TKV recently secured a knockout victory over Franklin Ignatius and his trainer, Barry Smith, is ready for a challenge. “Why not? It is up to this man here (Ben Shalom), he is putting the shows on. But Jeamie is ready to go,” Smith stated.

With Clarke aiming for an April return, the boxing world is eagerly awaiting his comeback. His determination to overcome this setback and his eagerness to return to the ring are sure to make his next fight a highly anticipated event.
