This summer, Jack London Square is bringing back its beloved Waterfront Flicks, a series of free outdoor movie screenings at the Oakland waterfront. Every Saturday through July 6th, families and friends can gather on the Marina Lawn near Heinold’s First and Last Chance Saloon for an evening of classic Hollywood films under the stars.
The series kicked off on June 15th with a screening of “Shrek” and continues with a lineup of family-friendly favorites. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for comfortable viewing, and grab snacks or meals from the local vendors for a complete movie-watching experience.
“Waterfront Flicks is a community favorite at Jack London Square,” said Port of Oakland Chief Real Estate Officer Jonathan Veach. “It’s hard to beat a free outdoor movie on the waterfront with some takeout from one of your favorite Jack London Square restaurants. The Port truly takes pride in hosting community-centered placemaking events like Waterfront Flicks.”
The next installment of Waterfront Flicks takes place tomorrow evening, June 22nd, and the series continues every Saturday through July 6th. These events are free and open to the public, so gather your loved ones and get ready for an unforgettable summer movie experience.
