French authorities have successfully thwarted 68 cyberattacks linked to the Olympic Games in Paris since last week, Prime Minister Gabriel Attal announced on Wednesday. Two of these attacks were specifically directed at Olympic sites in Bercy and La Villette, located in the French capital, on Thursday. Attal assured reporters that all 68 cyberattacks, including the two targeting Olympic venues, were detected and foiled before they could cause any harm. While he did not provide specifics about the nature of the other attacks, the Prime Minister emphasized the successful prevention of these threats. In anticipation of heightened cyberattack attempts during the Games, the French National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI) has been diligently training all entities involved in protecting against such threats. The Paris Olympics officially opened on Friday amid stringent security measures, demonstrating the commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for athletes, spectators, and organizers.
