A turning point came when he invested Rs 50,000 in a plot of land, based on a friend’s advice. Three years later, he sold the land for a substantial profit of Rs 1,50,000. This financial success convinced him to leave his homeopathic practice and venture into the world of real estate.

In 1981, he established the My Home Group, which has since evolved into one of Hyderabad’s most prominent real estate companies. Rao, holding a Science degree and a Doctorate in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (DHMS), initially focused on developing both commercial and residential properties through My Home Constructions. His business interests expanded to include cement, with him serving as the chairman of Maha Cement for nearly two decades. Today, My Home Constructions boasts an impressive turnover of Rs 4,000 crore.
