Coming from humble beginnings in Telangana, India, Jyothi Reddy’s life took a dramatic turn when her family’s financial struggles forced her into an orphanage at the tender age of eight. Despite these hardships, she remained steadfast in her pursuit of education, attending a government school while living in the orphanage. At the age of 16, she was married off and soon became a mother of two. Faced with severe financial difficulties, Jyothi took on manual labor in fields for a meager daily wage of just Rs. 5.
A glimmer of hope emerged when Jyothi was presented with the opportunity to teach under a central government scheme. However, this income proved insufficient, compelling her to supplement it with sewing work at night. Determined to improve her situation, Jyothi embarked on a journey of higher education, earning a BA degree in 1994 followed by a postgraduate degree in 1997. Despite these qualifications, her monthly income remained a paltry Rs. 398.
Another turning point came when a relative from the USA alerted Jyothi to the opportunities abroad. Seizing the chance, she enrolled in a computer course and upon qualifying, made the move to America. Life in the USA presented its own challenges, and Jyothi worked at a gas station and took on odd jobs, including babysitting. Her first significant break came when she landed a job as a recruitment professional.
Over the years, Jyothi diligently saved, amassing $40,000 by 2021. This capital became the foundation for her entrepreneurial venture, Key Software Solutions. Through hard work and dedication, the company flourished, growing into a thriving enterprise valued at approximately Rs 125 crore.
