Ashfaque Chunawala’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and seizing opportunities. Despite facing a challenging financial background and having to leave his studies after Class 10 to support his family, Chunawala’s determination propelled him towards success. He started his career working in a retail store for a meager Rs 1500 per month salary in 2004. However, his ambition drove him to switch jobs multiple times in search of better earnings. He even ventured into other investments, though some unfortunately resulted in losses.
A turning point arrived in 2013 when Chunawala noticed an advertisement for a new ride-hailing app. Recognizing its potential for profit, he joined the platform as a part-time driver. The company’s special program allowed him to secure an affordable car, enabling him to juggle his retail job alongside his new venture. His earnings gradually grew, allowing him to eventually earn Rs 35,000 from the store and Rs 15,000 per month as a driver. His sister also provided valuable support by assisting with the purchase of another car.
Chunawala’s entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop there. He secured a bank loan of Rs 10 lakh to acquire three more cars, marking a significant expansion of his business. Today, he proudly owns a fleet of 400 cabs and is determined to expand it further to 500. His remarkable journey from a low-income retail worker to a successful entrepreneur with an annual turnover of Rs 36 crore serves as an inspiring example for those seeking to overcome adversity and build their dreams.
