The foreign ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations have issued a strong condemnation of Iran’s export of ballistic missiles to Russia. In a statement released on Saturday, the ministers denounced the transfer of these weapons as a direct threat to the Ukrainian people and a serious risk to European and global security.
They explicitly called on Iran to immediately cease all support for Russia’s war in Ukraine, including the transfer of ballistic missiles, drones (UAVs), and related technologies.
The G7 ministers expressed their unwavering commitment to holding Iran accountable for its actions. They stressed that they are already taking concrete steps to respond to Iran’s support for Russia’s war, including the implementation of new and significant measures.
The current G7 presidency is held by Italy. The group also includes the United States, Japan, Germany, Britain, France, and Canada.
