Samsung’s 2018 flagship devices, the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9, are set to receive a new lease on life thanks to a custom ROM known as “Noble ROM.” This custom ROM, developed by “AlexisXDA,” is designed specifically for these devices and has been instrumental in keeping them updated with the latest Android versions and One UI releases.
The upcoming “Noble ROM 4.1” is poised to bring even more exciting features to these older devices, namely Samsung’s AI capabilities with One UI 6.1. Features such as Generative Edit, Live Translate, and Interpreter are teased to be included in the new build, along with Google’s Circle to Search.
It’s particularly impressive to see on-device AI translation features making their way to these devices, considering the Galaxy Note 9 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, which predates the widespread adoption of on-device AI. The availability of these features is expected sometime in May, offering a significant upgrade to the capabilities of these aging flagships.
