Galaxy S25 Ultra Rumored to Embrace Rounder Design and Slimmer Profile

A new leak has surfaced, providing insights into the design changes expected for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, following Samsung’s hint about the possible camera array for the Galaxy S25. Reliable tipster Ice Universe suggests a significant design overhaul for the upcoming flagship device.

The S25 Ultra is rumored to ditch the squared-off edges of its predecessor, the S24 Ultra, in favor of a rounder design reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 7. This change extends beyond the sides, with rounded corners expected on the back panel as well.

Furthermore, the S25 Ultra is rumored to boast a body thickness of 8.4mm, making it the thinnest Ultra model in years. This slimmer profile comes despite Samsung’s commitment to maintaining the protruding rear camera sensors, ensuring no compromises in the camera department.

One of the core features of the Ultra lineup, the S Pen, is expected to remain.

The camera system, according to Samsung’s hints, may consist of a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GNJ sensor, a possible 200MP HP9 telephoto lens, and a 50MP JN5 sensor which could serve as the selfie camera, ultrawide camera, or potentially even a main and telephoto camera.

In a surprising development, Samsung may consider switching from Qualcomm chipsets to MediaTek for the Galaxy S25. This move is attributed to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4’s anticipated high cost, prompting Samsung to explore alternatives to avoid a potential price increase.

While these are just rumors, they offer a glimpse into the potential direction of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The official announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 is expected during Samsung Galaxy Unpacked on July 10 in Paris. It remains to be seen whether the rumored design changes for the S25 Ultra will influence the future Fold 7 and Flip 7 models.
